Buckley Shine as ‘One Battle After Another’ tops 2026 Oscars

‘One Battle After Another’ a movie featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn among others emerged as the biggest winner at the 2026 Academy Awards, as it clinched the Best Picture award.

The Academy Awards, also known as ‘The Oscars,’ hosted by comedian and television personality Conan O’Brien, were held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night.

‘One Battle After Another’, a political thriller directed by Paul Anderson, also won several major categories, including Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

The movie also secured Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn and Best Film Editing, thereby making it one of the most decorated films of the night.

In the acting categories, Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his role in the movie ‘Sinners’, which had a record sixteen nominations, as the movie also won Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Cinematography.

The Best Actress went to Jessie Buckley for her performance in ‘Hamnet’, making her the first Irish performer to win the category and Amy Madigan won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the movie ‘Weapons’.

In other categories, ‘Sentimental Value’ won Best International Feature Film, while the animated feature ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ won the award for Best Animated Feature.
