Delta Police rescue three kidnapp victims

Three persons abducted in Isseluku on March 16 have been rescued unharmed following a joint operation by the Isseluku Division Police, military personnel, and local vigilante groups.

According to SP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, the security teams traced the kidnappers, engaged them in a fierce gun battle, and successfully freed the victims.

One of the kidnappers, identified as Hamadu Hassan, 22, sustained gunshot injuries during the confrontation and later died while receiving treatment at a hospital. Authorities recovered one AK-47 rifle loaded with ammunition at the scene.

Efforts to apprehend the remaining fleeing suspects are ongoing, the police said.

This operation highlights the collaborative efforts between police, military, and local vigilante groups in combating kidnapping and armed criminality in Delta State.
