The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has shared 47,280 bags of rice with people in Kano North Senatorial District.
This is part of his support for the Ramadan fasting period and the upcoming Sallah celebration.
The rice distribution started on Tuesday at Azman Rice Company in Kano. It was carried out by his Chief of Staff, Muhammad Abdallah, along with other aides.
According to his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, this is something the senator does every year to help his people during Ramadan and Sallah.
In the first phase, 47,280 households across 13 local government areas each received one bag of rice.
He explained that the goal is to support people at the grassroots level first, before extending help to other groups.
Many of the people who received the rice were happy and thanked the senator for his support, describing him as a leader who cares about the people.
