Galatasaray have confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen sustained a fracture in his right arm during Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions Leagueclash against Liverpool FC.
The Turkish champions disclosed that a final decision is yet to be made on whether the forward will undergo surgery.
Osimhen picked up the injury early in the encounter at Anfield and was unable to continue beyond the first half. The 27-year-old’s absence proved costly, as Galatasaray went on to suffer a heavy 4-0 defeat.
The club also confirmed that another player, Noah, sustained a serious cut to his right thumb during the same match.
Speaking through the club, head coach Okan Buruk will now shift focus to domestic competitions, as Galatasaray aim to defend their Turkish Super Lig title and compete for the Turkish Cup.
