President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday held a private meeting with Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street during his official visit to the United Kingdom.
The two leaders did not speak to journalists after the meeting. When asked how it went, Tinubu simply said it was “very good.”
The meeting is expected to strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Tinubu’s visit will end with the signing of several agreements covering trade, investment, defence, and cultural cooperation.
According to his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, one of the major highlights of the trip will be the signing of a £746 million financing deal.
The agreement involves UK Export Finance, the Nigerian Ports Authority, and Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance.
The deal is meant to support the upgrade of important port facilities, including the Lagos Port Complex and the Tin Can Island Port Complex.
