Police Foil Robbery, Arrest 5 Suspects
Police in Okokomaiko Police Station, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have foiled a robbery attempt by a three-man robbery gang.
P.M.NEWS learnt that the men were about to rob residents of Seriki Street, Okokomaiko when the Divisional Police Officer got a distress call and immediately dispatched to the area his patrol team, who rounded off the robbers.
Items recovered from them include one locally made pistol and two live cartridges.
The case has been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba.
In a related development, policemen attached to the Shagamu Road Division while acting on a tip-off arrested two men near the Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH, Shagamu Road, Ikorodu, Lagos.
P.M.NEWS learnt that the suspects, with others at large, converged on the place preparatory to carrying out a robbery operation in an undisclosed location.
When the police searched the suspects one single barrel gun was found on them.
The case has been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba.
Confirming the incidents, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, advised members of the public to always assist the police with useful information that could lead to the arrest of criminals.
