Danny Welbeck delivered a match-winning performance with a brace as Brighton secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Liverpool in their Premier League clash on Saturday.
The experienced forward opened the scoring early in the encounter, rising inside the box to head home and give Brighton the advantage.
Liverpool, however, responded before the break through Milos Kerkez, who capitalised on a defensive lapse to level proceedings and restore parity.
With both sides locked at 1-1, the contest grew increasingly intense in the second half, with Liverpool enjoying spells of possession while Brighton remained dangerous on the counter.

Liverpool pushed forward in search of an equaliser, creating several opportunities, including a close-range effort from Curtis Jones that was superbly saved by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
Brighton, however, held firm defensively in the closing stages, with disciplined organisation and timely interventions frustrating the visitors.
Despite late pressure, Liverpool were unable to break through as Brighton saw out the match to claim all three points.
