Baba Ijesha under fire over claims about Bobrisky’s mother

Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has stirred controversy online following his recent comments about the late mother of internet personality Bobrisky.

Speaking during an interview with actress Biola Bayo, the actor recounted his experience in prison and shared details about Bobrisky’s time in detention.

He dismissed claims that the social media personality was kept in a hotel, insisting instead that Bobrisky was held in the same cell with other inmates.

According to him, Bobrisky was visibly distressed upon arrival, allegedly crying and rolling on the floor. However, he described the crossdresser as a generous individual who often shared food with fellow inmates despite his flamboyant public persona.

Baba Ijesha went further to praise Bobrisky’s mother, claiming she regularly brought food to the prison and cooked for a large number of inmates, sometimes feeding up to 1,000 prisoners. He also alleged that she was often emotional during these visits.

The claims, however, quickly triggered backlash on social media, with many Nigerians questioning the accuracy of his statement. Several users pointed out that Bobrisky’s mother reportedly passed away years ago, making the actor’s account questionable.

The controversy comes shortly after Baba Ijesha regained freedom following his imprisonment over a sexual assault case. In 2022, the actor was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of assaulting a minor, following allegations made by comedienne Princess.

His release was earlier announced by actor Yomi Fabiyi, who stated that the court had cleared him, expressing joy over his return.
