Klopp speaks on Real Madrid move

"If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now. But that's all nonsense. They haven't called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven't called him either.”
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed speculation linking him to a summer move to Real Madrid, calling the rumours “nonsense” while leaving the door open for a future coaching return.
The 58-year-old, who left Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season and now serves as head of global football for Red Bull, has been linked to replacing Alvaro Arbeloa at the Spanish club.
Speaking at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation in Munich, Klopp said: “If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now. But that’s all nonsense. They haven’t called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven’t called him either.”
While shutting down the Madrid speculation, Klopp did not rule out returning to coaching in the future. “For my age, I’m quite advanced in life, but as a coach I’m not completely finished. I haven’t reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there’s nothing planned,” he said.
Klopp made it clear, however, that he will never manage another Premier League club besides Liverpool: “What I know definitely is that I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100%. That’s not possible.”
During his near-decade at Liverpool, Klopp won the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and led the club to its first league title in 30 years in 2019-20. He also lifted the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Before his time in England, Klopp won back-to-back Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund in 2011 and 2012 and also managed Mainz 05.
