Super Eagles reveal stunning new Nike Jerseys

Quick Read

Nike, the global sportswear company responsible for the design, said the jerseys combine modern football performance with stylish streetwear elements.

The Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, have officially unveiled their new jerseys ahead of upcoming international matches, even as the team continues to deal with the disappointment of missing out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The new kits were revealed on the team’s official X (formerly Twitter) page, generating excitement among fans.

Nike, the global sportswear company responsible for the design, said the jerseys combine modern football performance with stylish streetwear elements.

According to Nike, the goal was to create kits that players can wear comfortably on the pitch while also appealing to fans as everyday fashion.

The company noted that Nigeria’s jerseys have always been bold and unique, and this new design continues that tradition.

The home jersey stands out with a bright light green base. It also features darker green panels along the sides and a fading dotted pattern across the fabric, giving it a dynamic and modern look.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) badge is placed on the chest, alongside Nike’s famous swoosh logo.

The away jersey offers a different style, with a mostly white design. It is decorated with green flame-like patterns rising from the bottom, creating a striking visual effect.

The jersey also includes a dark green V-neck collar and sleeves with black trim, giving it a sharp and clean finish.
Nike also focused on the technical quality of the kits.

The company said both jerseys are made from sustainable, eco-friendly materials as part of its commitment to reducing environmental impact. In addition, the kits feature Dri-FIT technology, which helps to keep players dry by improving airflow and removing sweat during matches.

The jerseys are expected to be available for fans to purchase, with prices set at £109.99 for adults and £84.99 for children.

While the new kits have been well received, their release comes at a difficult moment for Nigerian football.

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a major setback considering the quality of players in the squad.

The team boasts top talents such as Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman, who all play at high levels in European football. Despite this, Nigeria fell short during the CAF playoff round, losing to the Democratic Republic of Congo in a penalty shootout.

Following the defeat, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) took the matter to FIFA, raising concerns about the eligibility of some Congo DR players.

The NFF claimed there were irregularities in the issuance of passports used by certain players during the qualifiers.

However, FIFA reviewed the situation and confirmed that the Democratic Republic of Congo met all requirements.

The governing body allowed Congo DR to remain in the competition and proceed to the next stage of the playoffs scheduled to take place in Mexico.

Despite the setback, the unveiling of the new jerseys signals a fresh start for the Super Eagles as they prepare for future matches and competitions.

Fans will be hoping that the team can bounce back stronger, using this period as motivation to rebuild and aim for success in upcoming tournaments.
