Six countries drawn from different continents will slug it out in a playoff tournament in Mexico for the final two tickets.
DR Congo national football team, Bolivia national football team, Jamaica national football team, Iraq national football team, New Caledonia national football team, and Suriname national football team will go all out to fight for the remaining two spots at the tournament.
The matches will take place in Guadalajara and Monterrey. The semi-finals are scheduled for March 26, and the finals will be played on March 31.
In one of the semi-finals, New Caledonia will play against Jamaica. The winner of that match will then face DR Congo for a place at the World Cup.
DR Congo is hoping to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1974, when the country was known as Zaire. They reached this stage after beating strong African teams like Cameroon national football team and Nigeria national football team.
Jamaica is also aiming to return to the World Cup for the first time since 1998. One of their key players is Leon Bailey. Meanwhile, New Caledonia is hoping to qualify for the World Cup for the first time ever.
The team that wins this round will go into a tough World Cup group with Colombia national football team, Portugal national football team, and Uzbekistan national football team.
