Motilola Akinlami speaks on painful fallout with Kunle Afod

Popular Nollywood actress Motilola Akinlami has confirmed that she has reconciled with her former boss and producer, Kunle Afod, bringing an end to their long-standing feud.

The reconciliation comes years after a highly publicised fallout between the two, which escalated in 2024 when the actress accused Afod of allegedly influencing producers against casting her following the end of their professional and personal relationship.

Speaking in a recent interview with Tony Montana, Akinlami disclosed that both parties have now settled their differences, describing the conflict as deeply painful.

“The major conflict that I had was with someone that I respected a lot, and it was very painful for me. It had to degenerate to a point where I had to come on social media to call names,” she said.

The actress revealed that the reconciliation was made possible through the intervention of respected colleagues in the industry, particularly Femi Adebayo, whom she praised for his role in restoring peace.

“Shout out to Femi Adebayo for helping us to put it over. He is a peaceful person. The issue has been resolved between myself and my boss, Kunle Afod. God has helped us resolve it,” she added.

Akinlami also appreciated filmmaker Bayo Tijani and other senior colleagues who intervened to mediate the dispute.
