Police begin investigation of fatal stabbing in Westminster

The Metropolitan Police have begun investigation into a stabbing in Abbey Orchard Street, Westminster which immediately led to the death of the victim.
According to local media reports, police were called at 10.17pm on Friday, March 27, to report the stabbing and officers found the man with stab wounds at the scene.
Police provided first aid before the London Ambulance Service took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Detective Superintendent Dean Lanfear said: “My thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends today as they process the loss of their loved one.
“At this early stage, no suspect has been arrested, and we are keeping an open mind regarding the circumstances of the incident.
“We understand the concern this incident may cause. Officers are on patrol in the area to provide a visual deterrent and to offer reassurance to residents.
“If anyone saw or has any information about what happened last night, please contact police. Even the slightest bit of information can help.”
