Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue has charged the new leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels to be accountable to people and instilled party cohesion.
Alia gave the charge in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula, and made available to newsmen in Makurdi.
The governor congratulated the national leader of the party, President Bola Tinubu, for conducting a successful national convention.
He expressed optimism that given the cooperation exhibited by party supporters for seamless congresses, the party would continue to record huge success.
“The amicable ratification of all proceedings leading to the convention, from the ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, accentuates the strength, unity, and internal democracy of our great party.
“This achievement is an expression of conviction to purposeful leadership and a shared commitment to progress,” he said.
The governor also congratulated the national chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and all other affirmed party officials across the various levels on their emergence as substantive leaders of the party.
