Attack Osun Police: 14 More suspects arrested

The Osun State Police Command has made more arrests of suspects in the recent attack on police officers in Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities.
This was disclosed in a press release signed by the command’s PRO, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi on Sunday in Osogbo.
“The Osun State Police Command wishes to update the general public on the ongoing investigation into the recent attack on police officers in Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities.
“Following a sustained and intelligence-driven operation coordinated by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips, the Command has successfully arrested an additional fourteen (14) suspects, bringing the total number of suspects arrested in connection with the incident to eighteen (18).
“The suspects, who went into hiding after perpetrating the criminal act, were apprehended through intelligence gathering operations,” the release said.
According to Ojelabi, items recovered from the suspects were one single-barrel gun, one live cartridge and One cutlass.

The eighteen suspects arrested so far are listed below by the release:

7. Mustapha Muwaliu “m”, 38 years
8. Jimoh Quyum “m”, 26 years
9. Ajani Faruq “m”, 20 years
10. Musibau Jimoh “m”, 35 years
11. Ajani Faruq “m”, 18 years
12. Olaniyan Quadri “m”, 40 years
13. Fatai Oyawoyin “m”, 50 years
14. Basiru Olaogun “m”, 55 years
15. Mutairu Olawoyin “m”, 49 years
16. Ige Jimoh “m”, 60 years
17. Olawoyin Samad “m”, 18 years
18. Tajudeen Taorid “m”, 18 years
The Command reiterated its commitment to upholding the human rights of all individuals and assured that all those involved in the criminal act would face the full weight of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.
According to Ojelabi, efforts are ongoing to track and arrest other fleeing suspects.
Members of the public are advised to remain law-abiding and refrain from acts capable of causing a breakdown of law and order.
The Command also urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful and timely information that will aid policing in the state.
