The Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Boma Iyaye, has denied reports on social media claiming he wants to run for governor of Rivers State.
He also dismissed claims that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has endorsed him, describing the reports as false and misleading.
In a statement shared on his verified Facebook page on Sunday, Iyaye said the reports do not reflect his current plans or intentions.
He explained that his main focus right now is his job at the NDDC, where he is responsible for finance and administration.
Iyaye said he is fully committed to helping the Commission achieve its goal of developing the Niger Delta region, working together with its leadership and other stakeholders.
He made it clear that he has not officially declared any intention to run for governor of Rivers State and has not received support or endorsement from Wike or anyone else.
He added that although he respects Wike and appreciates his service, the claims about endorsement are not true.
Iyaye also advised the public and the media to ignore unverified information and rely only on confirmed facts.
His statement comes as rumours continue to spread about a possible endorsement ahead of the 2027 elections.
