The United States and Israel have carried out new airstrikes on Iran, targeting Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran and a petrochemical facility in Tabriz.

According to Iranian media, the attacks happened on Monday morning, with several locations in the capital city affected.

Iranian state television said the strikes also hit a branch of the country’s National Bank and a cardboard factory in the southern part of Tehran.

Mehr News Agency reported that a residential area in northern Tehran was also struck, leaving several people injured.

Another report confirmed that a petrochemical production site in Tabriz was among the targets.

Majid Farshi, the Director-General of crisis management in East Azerbaijan province, said rescue teams were working at the scene. He added that the situation was under control and there were no leaks of dangerous or toxic materials.

Reports say the United States and Israel have been carrying out airstrikes in Iran since February 28, and more than 1,340 people have been killed so far, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has responded with drone and missile attacks on Israel, as well as on Jordan, Iraq, and some Gulf countries that host US military bases.

These attacks have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and affected global markets and air travel.
