How decomposing body of Valencia was found in police vehicle

It was a horrible scene when officers from the Azusa Police Department in California discovered the body of 37-year-old Eric Valencia decomposing in the backseat of one of their vehicles.
The department released body cam footage of the officers making the grisly discovery on the morning of March 26.
Local media reported that Valencia was pulled over on March 20 for suspected intoxication while driving a vehicle with his kids in the backseat.
He reportedly told cops he only had one beer, but a breathalyzer test revealed his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.
He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and felony child endangerment and booked into the local jail.
After his release on March 23, Valencia approached the police vehicle outside headquarters, opened an unlocked door, and entered the backseat, all while showing no signs of distress.
The following day, Valencia’s family filed a missing person’s report at the police department before the corpse was found.
His cause of death is yet to be determined.
