Nigerian actor and producer Olaide Olabanji has launched an attack on actress Mercy Aigbe, accusing her of ingratitude and hostility despite his pivotal role in her rise to stardom in Nollywood.

Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Oyinmomo, Olabanji claimed that his once-supportive relationship with Aigbe soured after she rose to the top of the Yoruba movie industry.

According to Olabanji, the actress has displayed “wickedness” toward him, with her behavior drastically changing following her success. He alleged that she reacts with visible displeasure whenever she sees him or his picture, and shockingly claimed that Aigbe harbors such intense resentment that she “wishes he were dead.”

The actor recounted how he discovered Aigbe in 2004. “I saw her in a shop in 2004 and asked her if she could act. She said yes, and I put her on. I brought Mercy Aigbe into the movie industry. I helped her,” Olabanji revealed.

But according to him, the relationship has since deteriorated. “Now she is blocking me. To her, it is as if I should no longer exist,” he added.

Olabanji further expressed disappointment in how some women’s behavior changes after achieving fame. He claimed that Aigbe, once warm and approachable, now appears distant and hostile whenever they cross paths.
