Panic gripped parts of Lagos early Saturday following a fire outbreak at a market in the Yaba area.

In a TikTok livestream seen by PM News, eyewitness Lugar Feliz said firefighters were already on the scene, noting that the blaze occurred around the Popo section of the market.
Social media users also raised the alarm over the incident. Clinically Firm (@GAnorue17378) wrote, “BREAKING: Yaba Market on Fire since yesterday Night. Details later.” Another user, Obutexofficial (@Obutex7), posted, “Yaba on Fire, fire outbreak since 1 am.” Olamilekan Iyiola (@Olamilekan0932) described it as “a terrible fire outbreak in Yaba right now.”
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage.
