Nollywood actress Scarlet Gomez, star of the hit Nigerian series Wura, has revealed a surprising connection with Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.

During a question-and-answer session on X with fans, Gomez was asked about her alleged connection to Sunday Are, Wizkid’s longtime manager and her first encounter with the singer. “Are you truly Mr Sunday Are’s daughter? If yes, what’s your first encounter with Wizkid like?” The fan asked.

In response, Gomez shared a revelation that took many fans by surprise: “Wiz & I went to the same secondary school 😅. He’s not changed.”

She revealed, naming Ogunlade College in Mushin, a detail that clashes with the widely reported Ijebu Ode Grammar School, where Wizkid is said to have sat for his WAEC exams.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Gomez spoke about the emotional challenges of portraying her complex and villainous character, Wura Adeleke. Wura, a powerful figure in the mining industry, often goes to extreme lengths to gain influence, even at the expense of her family.

Gomez explained that therapy and a strong personal support network have been key in helping her separate herself from her on-screen persona. “How I strike a balance…therapy and family. I’m grateful that I have the right support system around me to kind of help me stay grounded,” she said during a virtual press briefing.
