Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, a prominent politician and influential figure in Nigerian politics, has stated that he will support whoever emerges as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking with DW Hausa, Atiku emphasized that the party belongs to youths and women, and that his role is to create opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
When asked if he would support a youth as the presidential candidate, he replied confidently:
“Yes, why not. Allah has done everything for me. I have guided my sons and grandchildren, now it is time to secure the future of the next generation.”
He also dismissed claims that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) could undermine the ADC, noting that the party continues to attract members nationwide and is steadily growing its influence.
