Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has admitted fault and apologised for his late red card in Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly draw against Jordan on March 31.

Iwobi was shown a red card after reacting angrily to being held back by Jordan’s Amer Jamous during the encounter.

Speaking on the Alexander Yaa Digg podcast, the former Everton player took full responsibility for the incident, describing his actions as “not good enough.”

“I need to address what I did and apologise to all my Nigerian teammates, staff, and everyone who cares about Nigeria. My actions were not good enough, and I got sent off,” Iwobi said.

He added that he intends to learn from the experience and move forward positively. “But I will learn from this and keep moving on. We got a draw, we did not lose, so we will take the positives. I want to apologise for the mistake,” the Fulham star added.
