Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo, CEO of Karib Oil and Gas Limited, has demanded a refund of N20 million allegedly donated to influencer Blessing CEO for her cancer treatment, amid a public dispute over the funds.
Blessing CEO, who revealed in January that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and appealed for public donations, had previously stated she received N13 million, not the widely circulated N100 million, to cover her surgery.
She explained that her appeal was a financial precaution, and that her procedure had been postponed due to online controversy, with additional medical tests and post-operative care increasing her expenses.
Facing criticism, Blessing defended her refusal to publicly share her medical records, citing privacy rules and asserting that most critics would not correctly interpret the documents. She described earlier claims of stage 4 cancer as a “miscommunication” and noted that she had only recently received biopsy results and had not yet started chemotherapy.
However, hours later, Kariboye-Igbo countered her claims, releasing a purported receipt showing he transferred N20 million to Blessing CEO. Through his lawyers at Gideon Ugochukwu Chambers, he demanded a full refund within seven days, accusing her of fraud and living a “fake life.”

The lawyers’ letter, dated April 3, 2026, stated the donation was made “under the representation that the funds were for a cancer-related donation,” only to discover it was “false, misleading, and fraudulent.” They warned that failure to refund the money would result in legal action.
Following the dispute, checks by PM News confirmed that Blessing CEO has deactivated her Instagram account.
