A 57-year old man, Aberuagba Fagbamila, was on Wednesday, arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court, Ogun, over alleged N2.5 million fraud.

A 57-year old man, Aberuagba Fagbamila, has been arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court, Ogun, over alleged N2.5 million fraud.
Fagbamila, whose address was not provided, is facing a three-count charge of obtaining money under false pretense, stealing and conspiracy to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant and others now at large, committed the offences sometime in 2025, at Iyanrun, Iga-Osi, Ota.
Adaraloye said that Fagbamila obtained N2.5 million with the pretext of helping the complainant, Taofeeq Ayonide to get solutions to his spiritual challenges.
The prosecutor further said that the defendant converted the money to his personal use instead of helping the compliment to solve spiritual problems.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 390(9), 419 and 516 of the Criminal Code Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006. The Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Fadairo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum.
Fadairo ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, be gainfully employed, and provide evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government. She adjourned the case until April 16, for further hearing.
