‘Leave our party alone’ – Bala leads protest against David Mark’s ADC faction

Quick Read

Supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) took to the streets of Abuja on Thursday, urging prominent opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Senate President David Mark, to stay away from the party.

The demonstration was led by the factional National Chairman of the ADC, Nafiu Bala, who accused the visiting political leaders of attempting to hijack the party.

Bala was joined by ADC House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, as they marched with supporters carrying placards with inscriptions such as “Woe to Political Marauders” and “Hon. Nafiu Bala, We Stand With You”.

This protest appears to be a counter-demonstration following an earlier rally by the David Mark faction at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
