Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has criticised the Nigeria Football Federation for poor preparation ahead of major tournaments, including the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Ajibade shared her frustration on Instagram on Wednesday, saying the federation has not properly informed players about important details. These include when the team camp will open and the friendly matches planned for the April international window.
She posted a screenshot showing that she was only told informally that the Super Falcons camp would open on April 11, instead of receiving an official notice.
Ajibade said players have not received clear information about camp plans or confirmed matches, even though the international window runs from April 7 to April 18.
She also stressed how important proper preparation is, noting that the team is not just preparing for WAFCON but also fighting to qualify for the World Cup. According to her, their performance at WAFCON will determine if they qualify, so it should be taken seriously.
In her words, she expressed frustration about how long the situation has continued.
The Super Falcons are expected to play in the rescheduled WAFCON, which will take place from July 26 to August 16 in Morocco.
The issue gained more attention after the NFF announced that the Super Eagles would play in the Unity Cup, a four-nation tournament featuring Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and India, scheduled for May 26 to May 30 in London.
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie also reacted, questioning the situation. She posted a photo of Super Eagles players and asked if they have another AFCON in July.
