Radio Lagos and Eko FM have secured a major sweep at the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, emerging among the top performers with six awards across key categories.
The Lagos State-owned stations stood out from 248 entries, earning recognition for excellence in news delivery, programming quality, professionalism and commitment to public service. The wins further consolidate their position as leading voices in Nigeria’s radio broadcasting space.

Individual excellence was equally recognised, with Gbenga Alli-Balogun named Newscaster of the Year, while Titi Adeaga clinched Reporter of the Year.
Speaking after receiving the awards, the General Manager of Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Jide Lawal, expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition, describing it as a validation of the stations’ dedication to high-quality broadcasting.
Lawal said the accolades would inspire the team to sustain and improve on its standards of professionalism and service delivery. He also acknowledged the support of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, noting that his leadership and vision had contributed significantly to the stations’ success.
He commended the efforts of staff and the loyalty of listeners, dedicating the awards to both groups.
With the latest feat, Radio Lagos and Eko FM have reinforced their reputation as trusted and influential platforms in Nigeria’s media industry, setting a high bar for broadcast excellence.
