How 19-year-old girl was killed by dog ‘that slept on her bed’

The 19-year-old Essex woman killed by a dog that ‘slept on her bed’ has been named as Jamie-Lea Biscoe.

The dog Essex Police believe is responsible is a “seven-year-old lurcher” and “family pet”, The Mirror reports.
The animal has been seized, the force confirmed.
Jamie-Lea Biscoe has also been identified by friends and family on social media as the victim. A relative posted on Facebook: “Our darling Jamie-Lea, rip our girl.”
A second wrote: “She [the dog] slept on my granddaughter’s bed. It’s devastating.”
A 37-year-old man from Dunmow has been arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death. He remains in custody.
Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper said: “I know this incident will be a shock to the local community. My thoughts, and those of us all at Essex Police, are with the loved ones of the woman who died yesterday.”
Neighbours in the sleepy village have been left in “shock” following the tragedy. One paid their respects, saying Jamie-Lea was ‘well-liked.
They said: “It’s really tragic. I feel for the whole family. She was well-liked by the kids. We didn’t know what happened until this morning.
“For all concerned, it’s devastating. We feel for the family. We’re still trying to process it. It has been a shock.”
