Rivalry keeping Wizkid, Davido relevant – Blaqbonez

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has claimed that the long-standing rivalry between fans of Afrobeats giants Wizkid and Davido is a major factor keeping both artistes consistently relevant in the music industry.

Speaking in an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Blaqbonez said competition among fanbases helps sustain attention on top artistes, even after years at the peak of their careers.

According to him, the two superstars would struggle to maintain the same level of dominance if not for the constant online rivalry surrounding them.

“Wizkid and Davido can never fade. That hatred is the reason why they will be relevant forever. When they love each other, it is over. Love is for children. Artists can love each other, but the fans should never love each other,” he said.

Blaqbonez argued that rivalry between fan communities keeps artistes trending and ensures continuous engagement in the music industry.

The rapper added that he personally welcomes competition, describing himself as a highly competitive artiste who thrives in a rival-driven environment.
