Man Kills Girlfriend’s Brother

The police in Ogun State have begun a manhunt for an apprentice herbalist simply known as Abiodun who allegedly led two other persons to kill his girlfriend’s brother. The victim called Segun Olatunji, was bricklayer based in Ope-Ilu area of the state.

The other suspected accomplices are Akeem, Abiodun and Azeez.

A fight reportedly ensued when Olatunji warned his sister, Kabirat Ikudaisi to stop her affair with Abiodun. During the fight, the three suspects allegedly pummeled Olatunji to a state of coma. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but he died on the way.

The deceased, a father of two, hailed from Ijaka, Aiyetoro, Ogun State.

P.M.NEWS investigation revealed that the deceased’s younger sister Kabirat Akinyemi Ikudaisi, 16, a JSS2 student was having an affair with Abiodun, and this resulted in a quarrel.

According to Madam Ikudaisi, mother of the deceased, “Segun’s death is painful because he was the breadwinner of the family. What caused the problem is that my daughter Kabirat, is befriend Abiodun, who is an apprentice herbalist at Ope-Ilu, Ogun State. I warned him to desist from coming to see my daughter. I also reported to Chief Fatunmise his boss and he did nothing.

“Can you imagine that when my daughter visited the home of her elder brother at Ope-Ilu, Abiodun was there at about 11 p.m. and she took a mattress from the room and stayed outside with Biodun, making love till 4 a.m? Those who saw them told her brother and his wife and when her brother came to my house to inform me, her boyfriend (Abiodun) led Akeem and Azeez to threaten me and as my son tried to stop them from insulting me, they pounced on him and beat him until he slumped. We quickly rushed him to hospital where he was confirmed dead.”

The mater was reported to the police who have declared a manhunt for the suspects.

When P.M.NEWS visited Chief Fatunmise’s herbal home, one of the suspects, Akeem was seen there and when asked to state his own side, he responded: “I won’t be able to talk to you until I get instruction from my lawyer to do so.”

The deceased’s corpse has since been buried at Ijaka, near Aiyetoro, his home town.

The deceased’s younger sister Kabirat did not deny the allegation levelled against her boyfriend.

She said: “All that my mother said was true.”
