ADC youths plan #AmupitanMustGo protests in Lagos, Ogun, Jigawa
Young members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are planning protests in front of offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos, Ogun, and Jigawa states today.
The protests are part of a campaign called #AmupitanMustGo, which is calling for the removal of INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan.
The ADC National Youth Leader, Balarabe Rufai, shared this information on X (formerly Twitter). He also posted flyers for the protests in Lagos and Ogun, both tagged “Operation Occupy INEC.”
According to him:
The Lagos protest will start from Yaba College of Technology.
The Ogun protest will take place at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) office in Abeokuta.
This planned protest comes a few weeks after a similar “Occupy INEC” protest was held in Abuja on April 8, 2026.
Some top opposition politicians who joined the Abuja protest include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola, and Dino Melaye.
