Troops of Nigerian Army have neutralised two suspected terrorists and recovered weapons during a successful ambush operation in Doruwa Babuje area of Kaduna State.
According to operational report made available (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, the operation was carried out on Tuesday following credible intelligence on the movement of armed criminals known for attacking residents, including cases of robbery and sexual violence.
According to the report, troops laid an ambush around the Marit general area and engaged the suspects as they approached.
“Troops sprang the ambush and neutralised two of the armed bandits, while others fled the scene.
“Items recovered from the suspects include a fabricated rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a cutlass, a jack knife, and a mobile phone,” said.
The report added that troops had maintained their positions in the general areas of Marit and Lajam villages, with patrols ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The operation, according to the report, is part of sustained efforts to curb criminal activities and enhance security within the area.
