16 UNILORIN graduates make First Class in Law School

The Vice-Chancellor of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, is celebrating the 16 law graduates of the institution wo made First Class Honours at the recently concluded Bar Final Examinations of the Nigerian Law School.

This is in addition to 58 others who made Second Class Upper in the examinations, the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, said in a statement on Thursday, in Ilorin.

The statement indicated that the feat is the first in the history of the university and its Faculty of Law.

“The closest to this was in 2023 when 10 of its Law graduates bagged the First Class grade,” Akogun said.

The director asserted that the feat was a direct impact of the administrative style of the Vice-Chancellor who invested so much in the institution’s service delivery.

He quoted the Vice-Chancellor, saying, “the performance of the Law graduates is a thing of joy, not just for the Faculty of Law but also for the University in general”.

According to Akogun, Prof. Egbewole has always expected the Faculty of Law to make record-breaking achievements, as it remains one of the best Faculties of Law in Nigeria, in terms of staffing, facilities and service delivery.

The Vice-Chancellor, one of the latest members of the Body of Benchers, said that the feat reflects the individual industry, brilliance, discipline, and resilience of the law graduates.

“It is also a reflection of the strong academic foundation and culture of excellence nurtured at the University,” he said.

Egbewole commended the 16 First Class graduates for writing their names in gold and praised all other graduates of the faculty who also passed the Bar examination with various grades.

The V-C described the accomplishment as a proud moment for the University and reflection of its ceaseless commitment to academic and professional excellence.

He encouraged the graduates to continue to serve as good ambassadors of the university in all their future endeavours.
