“I don’t want kids,” Phyna chooses Pets over Motherhood

Reality TV star Phyna has revealed that she has no intention of having biological children, stating a preference for raising pets instead.

The former Big Brother Naija winner made the disclosure in a video, where she spoke candidly about how her personal experiences and views on relationships have shaped her decision.

“I’m very fertile, but I don’t have any desire to have a biological child. I just wanna be a cat and dog mum,” she said.

Phyna suggested that many women begin to develop stronger emotional attachments to pets as they approach their 30s, particularly after experiencing repeated heartbreaks in relationships.

According to her, such experiences can influence how women perceive love and long-term commitment, leading some to seek comfort and fulfilment through companionship with animals.

“I think the love for animals in women kicks in when we’re approaching our 30s, some of them in their mid-30s, late 30s, especially when you don’t see yourself settling down. Maybe you’ve been in too many broken relationships, you’ve gone through too many heartbreaks, I don’t know.

“So women tend to start developing a likeness for pets like that, and I think I’m in that stage. I think I’m in that stage right now,” she added.

According to the Nation, she maintained that she is currently at a stage in her life where the companionship of animals provides the comfort and peace she desires.
