Kano Pillars have been eliminated from the President Federation Cup after losing in the semi-final of the Kano State Federation Cup.

Kano Pillars have been eliminated from the President Federation Cup after losing in the semi-final of the Kano State Federation Cup.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side were defeated by Bichi First FC, a club from the Nigeria National League. The match was very competitive and ended goalless after 90 minutes of regular time, with both teams unable to score despite several chances.

The winner was decided through a penalty shootout. Bichi First FC showed more composure during the shootout and converted four of their penalties, while Kano Pillars scored two and missed others.

This resulted in a 4-2 victory for Bichi First FC, sending them through to the next stage of the competition.

The defeat is another disappointment for Kano Pillars in the Federation Cup. The club had hoped to go far in the tournament this season, but their journey ended earlier than expected.

Their struggles in the competition are not new. In last year’s edition, Kano Pillars failed to progress beyond the Round of 64.

They were eliminated after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Rangers at the Bwari Township Stadium in Abuja.

The latest exit will raise concerns among supporters as the team continues to search for better performances in cup competitions.
