Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen delivered a decisive performance as Galatasaray cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Fenerbahce in a fiery Turkish Super Lig clash.
Osimhen set the tone for the dominant display, opening the scoring in the 40th minute with a composed finish after latching onto a well-timed pass.
The Nigerian forward showed strength and sharp anticipation to beat defenders before slotting home, giving Galatasaray a deserved lead going into the break.
The match, played with intense rivalry and physicality, saw both sides create chances early on. Fenerbahce had an opportunity to take the lead but squandered a penalty, a miss that proved costly as Galatasaray gradually took control of proceedings.
Osimhen remained a constant threat throughout the encounter, troubling the Fenerbahce defence with his movement and physical presence. Although he was later booked for dissent deep into stoppage time, his influence had already shaped the outcome of the contest.
Galatasaray tightened their grip on the game in the second half, capitalising on Fenerbahce’s growing frustrations. The visitors’ situation worsened when they were reduced to 10 men following a second yellow card, leaving them exposed against a well-organised Galatasaray side.
Baris Alper Yilmaz doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 67th minute, calmly converting after a foul inside the area. The goal effectively shifted momentum fully in favour of the hosts, who continued to dominate possession and dictate the tempo.
Late in the match, Lucas Torreira sealed the emphatic victory, capitalising on a defensive error to fire home Galatasaray’s third goal in the 83rd minute.
