Controversial street-hop singer Portable has welcomed a baby boy with his partner, Omobewaji Ewatomi, in a dramatic twist that coincided with his defeat in a celebrity boxing bout.
Bewaji broke the news on Instagram, expressing gratitude for a safe delivery with a simple “Alhamdullillah,” while also revealing the child’s name as Jamal Iremide.
Portable, never one to stay quiet, also took to social media to celebrate the birth, showering praise on Bewaji for “making him happy.”
But the timing raised eyebrows.
The child was born on the same day Portable lost to comedian-turned-boxer Carter Efe in a widely publicised celebrity boxing match.
Reacting in his usual dramatic fashion, Portable said he chose fatherhood over the belt he failed to win.
“I thought I would carry a belt, but I carried my child instead. You can buy a belt, but you can’t buy a child,” he said, adding that while Bewaji was in labour, he was in the ring fighting.
The singer described the newborn as more valuable than any trophy, insisting he has no regrets about the outcome of the fight.
This marks the third child between Portable and Bewaji.
The singer had previously stirred controversy after revealing plans to marry multiple wives before turning 40, although he recently claimed Bewaji remains his only wife, with others being baby mamas.
