Love is a beautiful thing, and Aloy Baba made sure to leave its imprint on listeners’ hearts in “Feels right.” When a man finds what his heart desires, he will go to any length to nurture it, protect it, and ensure it endures for a lifetime. However, this is not always guaranteed. For those who continue to believe in its possibilities, “Feels right” is a track that embodies that belief.
The artist is not shy in professing what he feels. He likens her love to one sent from the sky, and the picture of his muse is a constant source of joy whenever he sets eyes on it. These words are not spoken half heartedly, they are well thought out words from an artist who has truly experienced the power of love. In his latest release, “Feels Right,” he blends this soulful storytelling with smooth grooves.
Laid-back sound introduce listeners to the “Feels Right” vibe. Percussive arrangements lay under the melodies, creating a lovely tune that is hard and gentle at its core. This is when Aloy Baba uses the opportunity to express his thoughts: “Girl every day you dey for my mind/Treat every day like say is valentine.” It shows a kind of love where she always occupies his thoughts. The feeling of her alone makes each day wonderful and precious like it is a special day. This is yearning at its highest; an emotion only those deeply in love can truly understand.
He further strengthen his dedication by highlighting the trials faced to secure his source of joy, “See nobody for take what is mine/ I already put my life on the line.” These are not empty words. They are words from someone who has fought for love and emerged victorious in the battle for what his heart cherishes. For any listener that is at a crossroads of giving up on what makes them tick, what gives them utmost joy in life, and what enables them to rise up early in the morning and take the world in stride, Aloy Baba’s experience is a testament to the fact that giving up is not the answer; it will be a story they will tell with vigour and pride.
“It feels like/ I’m drowning in an ocean, it feels like/ I’m drowning in emotions, and if it feels right/ I fit cross ocean for you,” he stated. Here, the artist lets his guard down, showing how helpless a man can be when matters of the heart become a priority in one’s life. Keyboard synths produce subtle, serenading sound and guitar riffs anchor it to give off an airy feel. These instrumentals complement the vocals in good measure, making the track look organic while traversing an emotional realm that is both delicate and complicated at times.
On this track, Aloy Baba is not just professing his desires timidly; he is doing so with gusto. A future with his love interest is all he cares for, and he believes any stormy weather in their path is surmountable through their bond. Matters of the heart are not to be taken lightly, and when one considers the sacrifices involved, it’s easy to wonder why many go to such great lengths for love. Perhaps the reason is succinctly captured in Aloy Baba’s own lines, “The things wey I dey feel dey make my heart skip.”
