Super Lig: Champions Galatasaray shopping for Osimhen’s replacement

Galatasaray are reportedly planning ahead for life after Victor Osimhen by searching for a versatile young attacker capable of stepping into the striker’s role in the future.

According to Turkish sports commentator Ibrahim Seten, the Turkish champions have already begun exploring options for a player who can not only provide cover for Osimhen but also complement him in attack while he remains at the club.

Speaking during an appearance on the “343 Digital” YouTube programme, Seten explained that Galatasaray’s recruitment plans are focused on finding a dynamic forward with flexibility across the front line.

“Galatasaray is looking for a young player who can fill Osimhen’s shoes when he’s not there, but also someone who can play alongside him,” Seten said.

He added that the player under consideration is expected to operate effectively on the wings, in attacking midfield positions, and through the centre when needed.

“They described the profile to me as something like a younger version of Michy Batshuayi,” he stated.

Osimhen has enjoyed a remarkable campaign with Galatasaray, playing a major role in helping the club secure the Turkish Super Lig title on Saturday. The Nigerian international has delivered consistent performances throughout the season, attracting attention from several top European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old’s future has remained a major topic in Turkish football circles, with growing speculation suggesting he could leave Istanbul at the end of the season if a suitable offer arrives.
