Student shot dead at UNIBEN’s main gate (video)

A yet-to-be-identified student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) was brutally shot and killed in his vehicle at the main gate of the Ugbowo campus on Sunday.

According to a harrowing video obtained by PM News, the tragic shooting occurred shortly after the victim allegedly completed his semester examinations, although this claim has not been independently verified at the time of this report.

In response, UNIBEN management has distanced its students and staff from the incident, suggesting that it may be linked to alleged cult activities taking place outside the university grounds.

The management expressed deep sorrow over the senseless killing and urged the university community to remain calm, vigilant, and continue their academic endeavors without fear.

At the time of writing, the Edo State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
