According to the committee’s report released on Monday, 33 aspirants were cleared to participate in the party primaries, while 65 others were disqualified.

All 29 serving lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, were cleared during the exercise.

The screening was concluded on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

The report also stated that the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, picked a nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives.

The committee said some aspirants were disqualified over issues such as:

Invalid party membership records

Failure to provide voter cards or membership slips

Incomplete documents

Conflicting dates of birth

Invalid nominators

Unsworn affidavits

Alleged inducement or bribery
