Tinubu, CAF president brainstorm on football growth in Kenya

Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, met with the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, in Nairobi, Kenya during the Africa Forward Summit.

The meeting focused on improving cooperation between African governments, football authorities, and the private sector to grow football and support development across the continent.

Also present were officials from Nigerian football, including Ibrahim Gusau (President of the Nigeria Football Federation), former NFF President Amaju Pinnick, and CAF acting Secretary-General Samson Adamu.

According to CAF, the discussions covered ways to strengthen partnerships between football bodies, governments, and businesses in Nigeria and across Africa.

President Tinubu attended the Africa Forward Summit, which focuses on economic growth, trade, infrastructure, climate change, and digital innovation. He was welcomed in Kenya by top government officials.

The Nigerian delegation included several ministers responsible for foreign affairs, agriculture, trade, communications, and other key sectors.

Tinubu is also expected to hold more meetings with African leaders to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic relations.
