The victory gave Team Nigeria its second gold medal of the ongoing championships and further boosted the country’s hopes of finishing strongly in the competition. Earlier, Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan had won the country’s first gold medal, continuing her dominance on the African athletics stage.
