An Aspirant for the Afikpo/ Edda Federal Constituency seat of Ebonyi, Chief Eni Uduma, has resigned from the All-Progressives Congress (APC) after he was lost out in the consensus arrangement adopted by the party in the state for positions in the 2027 general elections.
Uduma, who was among aspirants not favored in the consensus arrangement announced his resignation from the party in letter sent to the party’s chairman for Amiri Ekoli ward of Edda Local Government Area (LGA) on Friday.
He said his resignation was immediate while requesting delisting of his name from the party’s register.
The former Chairman of Edda LGA insisted that the letter served as a formal notice of his withdrawal from the APC’s activities and responsibilities.
“I also want my name and other particulars to be delisted from the party’s social media–Whatsapp groups.
“This decision was not taken lightly after deep reflection and extensive consultations with my constituents.
“I realised that my constituents’ interests should be pursued on a platform which leadership provides justice, unity, progress as its guiding principles,” he stated.
He noted that he would pursue his constituents’ interest on a platform devoid of internal sabotage.
“I find the APC leadership’s actions on aspirants as deeply disappointing and erodes trust.
“The party’s actions weakens the democratic process we all claim to uphold.
“I cannot in good conscience, remain in an organization where such conducts are tolerated,” he noted.
