Haaland to make acting debut as Viking in animated film

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is set to make his acting debut in the animated film ViQueens, where he will voice a Viking version of himself.

The producers of the film announced Haaland’s casting in an Instagram post, describing his character as a “legendary Viking” named Haaland.

“A modern Viking enters the ViQueens universe,” the announcement read.

“From December 25, audiences will meet Haaland as the legendary Viking ‘Haaland’ in our new animated feature film ViQueens.”

The children’s animated adventure is set in a world of fearless warrior girls, icy fjords and Silk Road mythology.

Solveig Langeland, Managing Director of Sola Media, the company handling worldwide sales of the movie, said Haaland’s involvement would add fresh excitement to the project.

“His involvement brings another exciting dimension to a film that already combines international adventure, humour, and emotional storytelling in a way we believe will resonate with audiences everywhere,” Langeland said.

Haaland will join a cast that includes singer Rita Ora and actress Ella Purnell, who voice the lead characters Hedvig and Ingrid.

The film is scheduled for release on Christmas Day.
