Man stabbed during evening rush in London

Paramedics and London's Air Ambulance reportedly treated the victim for several stab wounds at the scene before taking him to hospital.

A man in his 50s has been stabbed after a fight broke out in the car park of a Catford supermarket, London.

He was attacked outside the Tesco Superstore on Thomas’ Lane at around 5.50pm on Friday, May 15, MyLondon reports.

Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance reportedly treated the victim for several stab wounds at the scene before taking him to hospital.

His injuries are not life-changing, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement on Sunday.

Officers are yet to make any arrests in connection and enquiries are ongoing, the force added.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “At around 5.50pm, police received reports of a stabbing following a fight in the car park of a supermarket in Thomas’ Lane, Catford. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

“One man in his 50s was found at the scene with stab wounds and was transferred to hospital. Following assessment, his injuries have been found to be non-life changing. There have been no arrests at this stage.”
