Ex-VP Atiku Abubakar’s camp speaks on illness reports

The media office of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed reports claiming that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant fell ill over the weekend.

According to an online report on Monday, Atiku was allegedly placed on bed rest by his personal doctors. However, his media team said the claims are false.

In a statement released on Monday night, Atiku’s office confirmed that the former vice president is healthy, active, and fully engaged in preparations for the ADC screening and primary elections.

“Nigerians should disregard this mischievous report in its entirety. The ADC chieftain remains strong, focused, and fully prepared for the task ahead,” the statement said.

The clarification seeks to put an end to speculation about Atiku’s health ahead of his anticipated campaign for the 2027 presidential election.
