When Yetunde Ogunbekun speaks about artificial intelligence, she does so less like a tech executive and more like an educator determined to simplify a fast-changing digital world for everyday people.
The Lagos State University graduate, who studied English before moving into the Edutech industry, has built much of her work around helping entrepreneurs and young brands understand how AI can improve communication, marketing, and business visibility.
Speaking about her transition into the field, Ogunbekun explained that her interest in marketing began while she was still an undergraduate. In 2021, she attended the International Creatives Conference virtually, although the event itself took place physically in Ilorin and was organized by CS Media NG.
According to her, the conference exposed her to conversations around branding, digital storytelling, and innovation, planting the early seeds of her interest in marketing and technology. Today, however, her focus is firmly on impact.
Ogunbekun’s work revolves around AI product marketing and educating people on how artificial intelligence tools can be integrated into modern business operations. Her audience largely includes small business owners, startup founders, and Gen Z-focused brands trying to navigate an increasingly competitive digital environment. Rather than approaching AI from a deeply technical perspective, she focuses on accessibility.
During the conversation, she repeatedly emphasized that many people are intimidated by AI because they assume it requires advanced technical knowledge. Her goal, she said, is to break down that perception and help people see AI as a practical tool that can support daily business activities. She pointed to areas such as content creation, customer communication, brand strategy, and audience engagement as examples where AI tools are already changing how businesses operate.
According to Ogunbekun, many entrepreneurs are unknowingly spending excessive time on tasks that can now be streamlined through AI-assisted workflows.
Part of her work involves teaching businesses how to adapt without losing authenticity. While automation is becoming more common, she believes brands still need human connection and clear storytelling to remain relevant. In her view, AI should enhance communication rather than replace it entirely.
Raised in Surulere, Ogunbekun also spoke about the importance of digital education in Nigeria’s growing tech ecosystem. She noted that while awareness around artificial intelligence is increasing, many small business owners still lack access to simplified learning resources that explain how these tools can be applied practically.
That gap, she believes, is where educators and digital trainers have an important role to play.
Following her National Youth Service Corps program in Ogun State, she continued developing within the Edutech space, gradually building a reputation for helping people understand AI marketing tools without relying on overly technical language.
Observers within the industry say professionals like Ogunbekun represent a growing wave of young Africans shaping conversations around technology adoption from an educational standpoint. As businesses increasingly depend on digital visibility, the ability to understand AI-powered marketing systems is becoming a valuable skill across industries.
For Ogunbekun, the broader mission appears to go beyond technology itself. Throughout the discussion, she returned repeatedly to the idea of empowerment helping people feel equipped to compete, communicate, and grow within a rapidly evolving digital economy.
In a time when artificial intelligence is often discussed in abstract or futuristic terms, her work focuses on something far more immediate: showing ordinary business owners how these tools can be useful in practical, everyday ways.
