The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has addressed the concerns of Nigerians regarding the spread of Ebola in the country.
The authority, in a newly released statement, confirmed that there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in Nigeria, stressing the need for Nigerians to remain calm.
FAAN also explained that it had intensified preventive measures at international airports nationwide to guard against any possible importation of the virus into Nigeria.
It noted that monitoring systems have been activated across the international airports in the country, adding that they are working with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and other agencies to ensure safety.
FAAN also noted that passengers gets screened for symptoms and suspected cases undergo medical evaluation whilst being isolated.
They also urged travellers to report any symptoms or health concerns to relevant authorities as part of efforts to protect public health.
